Ingredients

- black soap

- honey

- a soft brush or a baby hairbrush

- 45° alcohol

- a sponge

1. To wash silk

This homemade recipe is perfect for cleaning and maintaining silk garments on a daily basis.

Put 1 liter of water in a saucepan and heat it. Pour in 1/3 glass of black soap then 1/2 glass of honey.

Mix well until everything is melted and homogeneous and then let the liquid cool.

In the bathtub (or in your sink and still in a bowl), lay out the silk garment well. Dip the soft brush into the liquid, then run it over the garment.

Rinse the garment in cold or barely warm water until the water runs clear. Let it drain by putting it flat or on a hanger, but above all without twisting it.

When it is still damp, iron it inside out with a barely hot iron. There is often a specific silk program on most irons.

2. To detach silk

This other technique is even more effective when there are stains embedded in the silk.

Prepare a water bath. In the container, put 1 tablespoon of black soap, 1 and a half tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of alcohol at 45°.

Mix until everything is well melted and let cool a little. Lay out the silk garment in the tub, sink or basin.

Dip your sponge into the mixture. Gently scrub the stains with the mixture.

Once the stains are gone, rinse your suit thoroughly with clear water. Lay it flat or hang it on a hanger.
