Turning my daughter's bedroom into a princess bedroom!

Try asking a little girl about decorating her room. Out of five questioned, three will undoubtedly opt for the princess style. It was the desire and the wish of my youngest when we completely redone her room.

It's all in the furniture

My daughter's fascination with the world of princesses, beautiful dresses and tiaras, especially Disney characters, began when she was two years old. Indeed, before going to sleep each night, I would read him the story of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". Very quickly, the choupinette identified with this heroine, to the point of disguising herself like her. So when we told her about our plan to renovate her living space, I wasn't at all surprised that she wanted a princess-style nursery.

Thus, at first, as his bed was only composed of a mattress on a box spring and he also needed other furniture, I preferred to devote myself to furniture first. And in the immediate future, the urgency was to find him without further delay a bed, a wardrobe, without forgetting the small desk. The difficulty of the exercise was to harmonize the furniture with the magical atmosphere so characteristic of this style of decoration.

A task that was made easier for me thanks to the formula "compose your own room" offered by Emob4kids, the online sales site that specializes in children's furniture. I saved a lot of time by discovering this shop, because it already sells themed furniture packs. With this sign, you are free to configure your children's bedroom as you wish. For my daughter, the Lizzy room was the best.

Decoration also plays an important role

Once you have all the furniture in your possession, the decoration part will be child's play, at least it was in my case. Insofar as I did everything with my daughter, I spent excellent moments of complicity and laughter, even if we did not agree on many things. My big fear was that she would want all candy pink walls. But after long discussions, only one side would be painted in this color.

On the other hand, another wall of the room would be entirely covered with giant stickers with the motif of one of the Disney princesses. She could clearly see Elsa and Anna from the "Snow Queen" there. But she quickly changed her mind at the last moment, when we came across an XXL wall sticker representing Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Arielle, Rapunzel, Belle and Jasmine. Once the question of the wall covering was settled, we took care of the floor.

Here, there was not much to do since the carpet had just been replaced. Nevertheless, I still insisted on giving her a carpet with the portraits of Pocahontas. Finally, it is difficult to imagine an entirely princess bedroom without a castle. This is why I had a carpenter of my acquaintance make a storage shelf in the shape of a castle with its dungeon. We are expecting the delivery of the part soon, hoping that it will be a success. Fingers crossed!
