Aeration with VMC (controlled mechanical ventilation)

To overcome this discomfort caused by humidity, it is advisable to provide good ventilation in each room, especially in "water rooms" such as the bathroom and the kitchen. The installation of a VMC (Controlled Mechanical Ventilation) is the most practical and simplest option. There are several types of VMC depending on the house to be equipped, but in general this system allows the humid air of the rooms to be released outside. Depending on the type of VMC installed, it can also reduce the temperature difference between incoming and outgoing air, thus avoiding humid air in the room.

Charcoal

Do you notice that the clothes in the closets are dirty with small white stains and that the sheets are impregnated with a bad smell? Unfortunately, it is often not only the laundry that is invaded by humidity. Furniture leaning against the wall or even the floors and walls themselves are also victims. Charcoal is very effective at absorbing moisture. To do this, simply take a cardboard box of about 20 to 30 cm, like a shoe box, and put a few pieces of charcoal in it, replacing the lid after making a few holes on the top. We install the box in a corner of the humid room or in the cupboards and it will remain to change the coal once a week.

Coarse salt

This essential condiment in the kitchen acts as a good absorber of humidity. All you need to do is take a few tablespoons of coarse salt and place them in a cup or an open box. Everything will then be placed in the room or the cupboards:odorless, its presence will not disturb the inhabitants.

Clove and orange

Clove and orange will bring a good smell to the room. The cloves will simply be planted in the orange and it will be placed in the corners of the room or even on the tables and shelves to serve as decoration. In addition to being economical, they act well against humidity.

The dehumidifier

It is possible to make the dehumidifier yourself with everyday objects. All you need is a 1.5l bottle of water, a compress and two rubber bands as support. The neck will be covered by the compress then the bottle will be cut in half and the neck will be turned over on the base part of the bottle. To keep everything in place, two rubber bands will be used, and finally you can pour, in the funnel-shaped part, the product which will absorb the humidity, either coarse salt, clay or cat litter. With the neck facing down, the absorbed water will flow into the base part of the bottle.

These few tips and tricks are inexpensive and effective in absorbing moisture. Do not forget to renew the absorbents regularly.
