But if I can simplify one thing this Thanksgiving, I will. And I have found the perfect place to retreat but still offer a memorable moment of celebration. I'm talking about cocktail hour. Mom, you can cope with candied nuts to serve with drinks. I'll be making this insanely easy two-ingredient apple cider cocktail that looks super fancy because it's fizzy and because it has something Italian involved (prosecco) and because, well, garnish. The secret sauce in any memorable cocktail is a classy garnish and this one is so easy I can pull it off with relative ease.

His recipe for this light and refreshing sip is a doddle:chilled equal parts real apple cider and prosecco in a beautiful champagne flute. Find some fresh rosemary in your garden, or purchase a plant for a beautiful centerpiece for the holidays and cut a few pieces to serve with your cocktail. Toss a medium lemon wedge with the rosemary sprig and serve. What could be easier?
