Your child wants a goldfish? They're a practical choice – low-maintenance and unobtrusive.

As a parent, I made my son thrilled by getting him Bubulle. After thorough research on goldfish care, I've mastered the essentials: tank setup, maintenance, and feeding. These simple, cost-effective tips keep Bubulle thriving, and I'll share them with you.

1. Choosing the Right Aquarium

Opt for a rectangular aquarium – never a round bowl. Bowls are too small and distort the fish's view, causing stress.

An 18-liter tank suits just one goldfish maximum. Larger is always better, but aim for 50 liters per fish, ideally housing two. Goldfish are schooling fish that thrive in groups.

Skip the noisy, high-maintenance pump – it's costly long-term. Add sand, decorations, and one plant for CO2 and natural food. This gives your fish ample space to swim and grow.

2. Aquarium Maintenance

Change water weekly or every 10 days if it's not too hard or dirty. Top up as needed, especially in summer when levels drop.

Reuse old water to fertilize plants and save resources. Replace only 4/5ths to preserve pH balance and beneficial bacteria that support the aquarium ecosystem and your fish's health.

For cleaning, temporarily house Bubulle in a freezer bag or small container with tank water. After refreshing the tank, gradually acclimate him to avoid temperature shock – mix waters slowly.

With a pump-free setup, add a water conditioner (available at supermarkets or online) for optimal quality.

3. Fish Food

Goldfish eat sparingly, and food is inexpensive. I use a small jar of complete flake food from the supermarket – no need for specialized varieties like color-enhancing flakes.

A 100ml jar lasts a year. For vacations, vacation sticks dissolve automatically, keeping feeding hassle-free.
