Planning a move? Suitcases work great for foldable clothes like T-shirts, pants, and sweaters. But for items on hangers—coats, dresses, jackets—skip the folding hassle.
As a seasoned moving expert, I've found this simple trick saves time and keeps clothes pristine: use garbage bags. Here's how.
1. Gather your hanging clothes on a rack.

2. Slide a large garbage bag over the clothes from the bottom.

3. Secure the bag at the top and slide it off the rod.

Your clothes are now protected and ready to transport—no wrinkles or damage.
At your new place, just hang the rack and remove the bags. Quick and effective, right?
