Frustrated with rising prices and harsh chemicals in store-bought detergents? You're not alone. After years of testing natural cleaning solutions, I've perfected a simple homemade laundry detergent recipe that's safe, powerful, and incredibly easy.
It's made with just a few natural ingredients, requires no special equipment, and takes only minutes to prepare. Now, my laundry comes out clean, fresh, and free from irritants—perfect for sensitive skin.
Follow these steps for professional results at home.

- 40 g of Marseille soap shavings (or 7 to 8 tablespoons, about 25 cl)
- 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 empty and clean 2-liter container
- 1 liter of hot water
- 1 kitchen scale
1. Pour 1 liter of hot water into a container.
2. Measure 40 g of Marseille soap shavings.

3. Add the shavings to the hot water and stir until dissolved.

4. Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar.

5. Stir in 1 tablespoon of baking soda.

6. Transfer to your 2-liter container and shake vigorously to mix thoroughly.

Your homemade detergent is ready to use! This straightforward process yields a potent, natural cleaner without any fancy tools like a Thermomix.
It's far more economical than commercial options and gentler on your skin and the environment—ideal for those with eczema, irritation, or dryness.
Load your laundry into the washing machine.
Measure 120 to 150 ml of detergent into a dispenser ball.
Place the ball in the drum center, replacing your usual detergent.

Run your cycle as normal. You'll notice exceptional cleaning power.
- If the detergent thickens after storage, add a splash of hot water, shake well, and it will liquefy.
To avoid thickening, select glycerin-free Marseille soap. Use shavings, flakes, or grate a bar as needed.
- For a fresh scent, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, like lavender, which pairs beautifully with the soap's subtle aroma.
