How to dose sodium percarbonate?

In the different uses of percarbonate that you will find below, we refer to preparations. Here is what dosages they correspond to:

To make a standard preparation: mix 100 g of percarbonate in 3 liters of hot or very hot water.

To make a powerful preparation: mix 200 g of percarbonate in 3 liters of hot or very hot water.

To make a soaking solution: mix between 50 and 200 g of percarbonate in 3 liters of very hot water.

To make a percarbonate paste: mix 30-60g of percarbonate with just a little water to make a paste.

1. Untie the clothes

Percarbonate is a very good cleaner, including for colored laundry. Here's how to use sodium percarbonate for laundry . For lightly stained fabrics, add 30g of percarbonate to your usual detergent in the washing machine. For moderately stained fabrics use 60g and for really heavily soiled fabrics use 120g. 2. Cleans cloth diapers

Percarbonate is very effective at stain removing, deodorizing and whitening fabrics . To whiten and deodorize cloth diapers or stain washable sanitary napkins, add 100 to 150 g of percarbonate to the laundry.

3. Can also be used as a pre-wash

You can also use it to soak pre-wash fabrics . For lightly stained fabrics, here is the recipe:add 30 g of percarbonate during the soak cycle. For moderately stained fabrics use 50g and for heavily soiled fabrics 150g. To whiten and deodorize diapers, add 150-200g of percarbonate in the soak cycle. Then let the linen soak in hot water with the percarbonate for at least 30 minutes, or even better overnight. Then run a full wash cycle as usual.

4. Whitens yellowed sheets

How to remove yellow rings from a pillow? To whiten the sheets , yellowed pillowcases and duvet covers, add 50 g of percarbonate to 3 liters of hot water. Soak them in this mixture overnight. It is a natural alternative to bleach to whiten yellowed laundry.

To remove yellow rings under the armpits , soak the shirt with 50 g of percarbonate in 3 liters of hot water for at least 1 hour, or overnight. Then machine wash as usual. It is very effective in removing perspiration stains from white linen.

For plastic food boxes and stained dishes, add 30 to 60 g of percarbonate directly to the container to be cleaned with hot water. And let it soak for at least 15 min.

Additional advice

Always wear gloves as soon as you use the percarbonate. These percarbonate preparations remain active for 5-6 hours, after which you should discard them.

You can pour them down the drain or into the toilet without any problem. On the contrary, the mixture maintains and disinfects them. There is no risk.

Be aware that percarbonate is most effective when mixed and used with hot water around 50°C.

Never use percarbonate on wool or silk. Percarbonate does not act on rust or limescale deposits.
