What you need

  • Aluminum or heat-resistant glass pitcher
  • Old saucepan
  • 250 ml glass jars
  • Kitchen thermometer
  • Soy wax pellets
  • Candle wicks with centering pads
  • Essential oils or scented candle oil
  • Pencils or chopsticks

How to

  1. Prepare a bain-marie by submerging the pitcher in the saucepan.
  2. Add 450 g of soy wax pellets to the pitcher.
  3. Heat to melt the wax, reaching exactly 85°C.
  4. Once melted, stir in 30 ml of your chosen scented oil.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. While the wax cools, position wicks in the jars, centering them and securing with chopsticks or pencils.
  7. Monitor the wax temperature. At 60°C, pour carefully into the jars.
  8. Allow to cool overnight.
  9. Trim wicks to 1 cm.
  10. Light and enjoy!
