Ever considered giving your home's walls a thorough clean? They accumulate dust, grime, and stains just like any surface.
Walls get surprisingly dirty over time—even dust clings stubbornly. Traditional methods are exhausting, often requiring ladders and hours of effort.
As a homeowner who's tackled full-house deep cleans, including pre-sale refreshes, I've perfected an efficient technique that works even on high or vaulted ceilings.
All it takes is a swivel-head microfiber mop and warm soapy water. Here's how—it's transformed my routine maintenance.

- Microfiber mop with pivoting head
- Spray bottle
- Dishwashing liquid
- Hot water

1. Start by dry-dusting the walls top to bottom with the microfiber mop to remove loose dust.
2. Rinse the microfiber pad thoroughly.
3. Fill the spray bottle with hot water.
4. Add 1-2 drops of dishwashing liquid.
5. Shake well to mix.
6. Spray the solution on the wall or mop pad.
7. Wipe left to right from the top down, pressing firmly for stains.
8. Repeat for all walls.

Your walls will gleam—cleaned effortlessly without ladder risks. This method saves hours and prevents dust buildup or stains.
Expect brighter, fresher rooms; the transformation is noticeable immediately.
- Always dry-dust first to avoid smudges from wet dust.
- Press firmly on stubborn stains for best removal.
- I first used this prepping our home for sale; now it's my go-to every 6 months for ongoing maintenance.
