Styling tips for the bedroom

Who wouldn't want to wake up in a dreamy bedroom, where the linens are fresh, the bed is comfortable and the accessories are perfectly styled? It sounds like a picture from an interior design magazine, but getting this perfect look is easier than you think. Here are our bedroom styling tips to help you create this look.

Choose a style
Everything is easier when you have a style that inspires you. This is the starting point from which all decisions arise. Imagine a bedroom that you have seen and that you liked. What inspired you? If you like minimalism, you can follow some cues from Scandinavian design. If "less is more" isn't your thing, you can opt for eclectic or Mediterranean. Or maybe you'll find a new style while getting inspired. By mixing your own personal style and styles you like, you can develop a whole new look.

Go for the high-end look
With professionally designed bedrooms, the designers are usually not reluctant to use luxurious items. While you may not be able to afford to buy just luxury items, you can choose some accent pieces or items that look more expensive than they actually are. Some things that can deceive the eye are a large chandelier above the bed, beautiful bedside lamps and a beautiful vase. But of course you can also buy a luxurious duvet cover, pillowcase and fitted sheet. That is less expensive than other luxurious items, but still provides that high-end look. Your bed is the ultimate style palette of your bedroom, so choose wisely!

Add a statement piece of furniture While minimalism is all the rage right now, that doesn't mean your bedroom has to be empty. Choose a statement piece of furniture that serves as a centerpiece and is a real eye-catcher. Think of a comfortable sofa (a nice place to read before going to bed), a vintage armchair, a blanket chest or an ottoman in a nice style.

Play with texture
Different textures give a unique dynamic and create a cozy homely feeling. For example, you can place several beautiful rugs on the floor, or lay down soft velvet cushions to create a contrast with smooth materials such as silk. The possibilities are endless.

Use accent colors
Choose one or two accent colors for accessories to give the room a luxurious feel. Not only does this contrast perfectly with the rest of the bedroom, but it gives it a pop of color without being too much. Make sure the colors you choose for the accessories match the color scheme of the bedroom. With accessories you can think of decorative bowls or vases and stacks of books and magazines that you arrange in color and height. And don't forget that the most beautiful accessories come from nature itself – such as fresh flowers and house plants.
