Landscape architecture masterfully blends built and natural environments, creating sustainable, inspiring spaces. The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) proudly represents over 1,900 professionals across provincial, territorial associations, and university programs nationwide.
On March 15, 2013, in Ottawa, the CSLA announced the National Winners of its annual Awards of Excellence. This year's results highlight 13 exemplary projects in landscape design and management.
Beyond stunning aesthetics, these works advance landscape preservation and sustainable stewardship. Honored projects include university campus planning, ecological restoration of industrial sites, and revitalization of ports and downtowns to enhance public access and walkability.
Expert landscape architects craft these visually captivating spaces that enrich everyday life. A distinguished national jury evaluated entries across three categories: Honor (meeting all excellence criteria), Merit (meeting key criteria), and Citations (meeting specific criteria).

The winners were announced ahead of Landscape Architecture Month celebrations. "As landscape architects, we strive to build sustainable environments and enhance quality of life," said CSLA President Claude Potvin.

Awards will be presented at the CSLA Gala on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina. High-resolution photos of these innovative, eco-friendly projects are available upon request.
