A Technique To Sew A Button More Securely.

I suck at sewing.

Suffice to say that the simple act of sewing on a button is a hassle for me.

Fortunately, my grandmother gave me a really clever trick to sew a button securely.

To sew a button well, all you need to do is put on a little nail polish. Watch:

How to

1. Sew on your button with thread, preferably the same color as the fabric you are going to sew it on.

2. Take out your bottle of clear nail polish.

3. Baste the place where you sewed the button, in the center of it, over the threads.

And now, the button you sewed will last much longer :-)

Don't forget to put varnish on both sides :at exterior and at interior of your garment as well.

Why does it work?

The varnish sticks the threads and allows the button to stay on the garment longer. That way, you won't need to sew on your button again for a while.

And you can also use the varnish to touch up your slightly spun tights:a little varnish on the place with holes and you prevent it from getting worse.
