1. Remove tape residue

Make a thick paste of baking soda and water. Rub the paste on the pieces of tape stuck on the windows then wipe with a sponge.

2. Extinguish the flames

Keep a box of baking soda in your kitchen to throw on any flames that break out on your stove.

3. Eliminate cockroaches

Place a shallow dish or bowl containing half the sugar and baking soda. Cockroaches are attracted to sugar, but mixing it with baking soda is deadly to them.

4. Remove grease stains from carpet

Sprinkle baking soda on the greasy stains on your carpet and let sit for about 1 hour. Rub gently with a damp sponge or brush, then vacuum to remove the remaining dirt.

5. Absorb moisture

Keep an open container of baking soda in your tool cabinet to absorb moisture that could rust your tools, such as a saw, hammer, or pliers.

6. Maintain the pipes

Once a week, pour 1 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar down your kitchen sink. This tip will help keep your pipes free from clogs.

7. Clean a shower door
