You want to get into crafting or painting and your brushes have hardened ?
Do not panic ! No need to throw them away even if they are completely dry...
...or even worse, if they've taken a bend and the hairs are upside down.
There is a painter's trick to recover hardened brushes.
The trick is to use white vinegar to scrub old brushes quickly. Watch:
1. Fill a glass with white vinegar.
2. Empty this glass of white vinegar into a saucepan.
3. Put it to heat.
4. Take the white vinegar off the heat when it gets hot but not boiling, so it won't damage your brushes.
5. Soak your brushes in the warm white vinegar.
6. Let act 5 good minutes.
There you go, your brushes are now all beautiful, brand new and above all very soft :-)
No more dry brushes! Now you know how to recover a paint-hardened brush.
No need for White Spirit! Thanks to its acidity, the vinegar will soften the brush full of dry paint.
Now it's up to you to play the artist!
Before, when my brushes were all dry, I would throw them away and buy more. It's true that it's not overpriced but on the other hand what a waste to throw away so many brushes.
Now your brushes are guaranteed long lasting thanks to white vinegar who cleans everything. It doesn't cost you anything, except for the white vinegar that you can use to clean lots of other things.
