Rainy weather means it's time to pull out your favorite boots, ankle boots, leather shoes, and especially suede footwear.
But splashing through puddles often leaves stubborn water stains on those prized pairs.
As the old saying goes, preparation is key—here's a simple, proven method to clean rain stains from suede shoes using just your fingernail and a pencil eraser. It's affordable, straightforward, and highly effective.

1. Gently scrape the stain with your fingernail. Use light pressure—don't try to remove it all at once, or you risk damaging the suede.
This initial step dislodges the hardened outer layer, making the rest easier to erase.
2. Grab a pencil eraser (avoid ink erasers) and gently rub the stain. Apply minimal pressure in short strokes to protect the suede. For most stains, it takes just 2 to 6 seconds.
And just like that—stain gone! Slip back into your pristine suede shoes and dance through the rain.
Bonus: This technique works equally well on paint stains.
