As a homeowner who's tackled countless cleaning chores, I've found the simplest trick to refresh dusty window blinds right at home.
Blinds often get overlooked in my routine, and when I do remember, it's easy to procrastinate—cleaning them isn't exactly thrilling.
After keeping our Venetian blinds down all summer, dust buildup was inevitable. But after testing various methods, I discovered the easiest, most effective way to get them spotless.

All it takes is DIY blind-cleaning tongs made from household items and a dust-repellent spray. This method makes the job faster and effortless. Watch how:

- 4 rubber bands
- 1 pair of kitchen tongs (like this one)
- 1 microfiber cloth
1. Cut the microfiber cloth in half.
2. Fold each half in half.
3. Wrap one piece around one end of the tongs.
4. Secure it with rubber bands.
5. Repeat on the other end.
And you're done! Your custom blind-cleaning tongs are ready to go. :-)
For optimal results, lightly spray an anti-dust solution on the microfiber cloths. I recommend our homemade anti-dust spray—it cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes in one pass.

Now the fun part: cleaning. Simply pinch a slat between the cloths and slide along its length, like this:

Repeat for each slat, and watch your blinds transform—thoroughly cleaned in minutes.
Afterward, untie and wash the microfiber cloths for reuse next time.
Since adopting this hack, I clean my blinds far more regularly. These tongs simplify the process immensely, and their reach lets me handle high windows effortlessly (even at my height).
Paired with the homemade spray, my blinds have never been cleaner!
