Commercial laundry perfumes? Skip them—they're pricey and packed with chemicals that can irritate skin or cause allergies.

Instead, craft your own 100% natural linen spray with this simple, proven recipe. It's economical, effective, and keeps your laundry smelling fresh for days.

DIY Natural Lavender Linen Spray: Fresh, All-Natural Scent for Your Laundry

Your homemade, 100% natural linen perfume is ready to use! Quick, affordable, and delightful—your laundry will smell impeccably clean with a lasting Provence-inspired lavender fragrance.

It works beautifully on sheets, clothes, towels, and all fabrics, without synthetic scents that irritate skin.

Additional tips

Not a lavender fan? Swap the hydrosol for orange blossom and use citrus essential oils instead.

Perfect for ironing too—or pair it with white vinegar as a fabric softener for ultra-soft linens with a lovely scent.

Storage

Grapefruit seed extract serves as a natural preservative. No extract? Use 4 drops of tea tree essential oil.

Store in a cool, dark, dry place with stable temperatures, as essential oils are sensitive to light and heat fluctuations.

Without preservatives, it lasts about 10 days; with them, several weeks.

Why does it work?

Lavender hydrosol, from steam-distilling lavender flowers, delivers a lighter scent than essential oils while offering calming, soothing, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and stress-relieving benefits. It even aids sleep.

Grapefruit seed extract preserves naturally, and alcohol helps blend the oils with water seamlessly.
