Smudged, greasy lenses are a daily frustration for me—fingerprints, oil stains, and mask fog make it impossible to see clearly.
I’ve tried it all, including those pricey Vu wipes that just spread the grime further, with questionable eco-impact.
Thankfully, my optician shared his go-to method for deep cleaning and disinfecting glasses, keeping them pristine from morning to night.
This simple, natural trick: Spray 70° alcohol on each lens and wipe with a microfiber cloth. Watch how:

- 70° alcohol in a spray bottle
- Clean microfiber cloth
1. Spray a little 70° alcohol on one lens.
2. Wipe both sides thoroughly with the microfiber cloth.
3. Spray the second lens.
4. Clean it using a fresh corner of the cloth.

And just like that—impeccable lenses! :-) Quick, effective, and no greasy residue blocking your view.
Bonus: Clean the frames too for full disinfection.
I keep a small spray bottle in my bag for on-the-go touch-ups. No 70° alcohol? Rubbing alcohol or white vinegar works wonders too.
Perfect for prescription glasses or sunglasses alike.
70° alcohol cuts through grease deeply without harming lens coatings, erasing fingerprints and leaving no film behind.
From my experience, it delivers razor-sharp vision every time.
