Want to stretch your candle budget? Chill them first. Cold wax burns slower than wax at room temperature. Refrigerate your candles for a few hours before lighting, and they'll last 3 to 4 hours longer.
To extend burn time even further, sprinkle a few grains of coarse salt at the base of the wick. The salt crystals help prevent the wick from burning too quickly.
Combine both tricks—chilling and salt—for maximum results. Enjoy your candles longer and make fewer store runs.
Decorative candles often cost around 3€, so they're affordable—unless you're lighting up zen vibes daily. We haven't found a way to keep them looking brand new, but these zero-cost hacks reliably extend their lifespan.
Save at least one candle per pack with these simple steps. Proven in real homes, they work every time.
