Tired of aphids infesting your plants? As a seasoned gardener, I've relied on this highly effective organic treatment to eliminate them naturally.
We know coffee grounds work well against aphids, but nettle manure is an even more powerful, long-lasting repellent.
I harvest 350 grams of nettles, including stems and leaves, chop them finely, and mix with 2.5 liters of water. I then let it macerate for 48 hours. Prepare it outdoors—the fermentation produces a strong odor.
Stir the mixture occasionally and cover the bucket. After 48 hours, strain it to keep only the liquid.
Before applying to plants, dilute it: use 2 parts manure to 10 parts water. Never use it undiluted, as it can burn foliage.
Application Tips:
Test a small amount on one leaf first to ensure the dilution isn't too strong and check for adverse reactions.
If all's well, spray thoroughly on leaves of infested plants. This potent solution drives aphids away quickly, safeguarding your garden.
Nettles are often dismissed as weeds, but 350 grams yields a completely free, effective repellent.
Skip the garden center—no need for commercial sprays or travel costs. This method saves you more than 10€ per treatment.
Harvest nettles from your yard, ask friends or family, or forage along country lanes and forest edges.
