Not sure what to do with your old pair of shoes?
Glitter shoes, do you want to party?
No need to buy a new pair!
Just customize an old pair of shoes to give them a second life, with this easy DIY. Watch:
- 1 pair of shoes (ballerinas are perfect)
- fabric glue
- pretty golden sequins
- 1 foam brush
1. Mix the fabric glue with the glitter. A shimmering paste is obtained.
To know how much glitter to mix with the glue, I test on a piece of my shoe. That way I can see if there is enough glitter to cover the shoe opaquely.
2. I take the laces off my shoes so I don't paint them at the same time. I also fill the inside of my shoes with paper to protect them from my unwanted brush strokes.
3. We go to the brush stroke. I apply the glue mixed with gold glitter on my shoes using my foam brush.
4. I let it dry and apply a bit of hairspray the next day to make sure the glitter stays on my shoes.
Lo and behold, I made my own glitter shoes :-)
Simple, fast and economical!
If I don't know yet what to wear for my festive evenings, I at least know what I will have on my feet.
I discovered a pair of almost new shoes whose color hardly matched any of my outfits.
I simply customized them with glitter to give them a makeover.

And it works with ballet flats, pumps, derbies or sneakers.
