Sneak Peek: My Home Office Transformation – Building an Inspiring Workspace

I recently shared a blog post about creating a new home workspace, highlighting key elements that make it functional and motivating. That post also showed the space a few weeks back, featuring the old barn doors. Much work remained to craft an inspiring office design and a comfortable environment.

My New Workspace: Launching an Inspiring Office Design

We're now several steps ahead. The office isn't complete, and the design can still evolve 😉, but the foundation is set, and I'm thrilled with the progress!

Check out these stunning barn frames—they flood the space with natural light, which I adore, especially for long work hours.

Plastering is pending until we insulate and board the ceiling and remove another wall. The office will expand, making it accessible for Luc and Lotte, plus a spot for crafts alongside work. More tasks ahead, but I couldn't wait to style it and share.

My New Vintage Rug

The current table and chairs are temporary stand-ins from outdoors. Eager for a preview, I arranged them to envision the full office design and showcase my new vintage rug, perfect for this space.

Previously undecided on flooring, I've settled on keeping the concrete base. Rugs will elevate the inspiring vibe. What do you think?

We tested it in the living room too (see above). It's stunning—I might grab a duplicate. Sourced affordably from Volero, it pairs effortlessly with pinks, ocher yellows, blues—like the cushions on my inherited wooden chair.

Measuring 2.30m x 3.30m, it'll anchor our 2.20m elongated wooden oval table from Karwei (25% Black Friday discount). Ample rug on both sides. Low-pile for practicality, and the wood complements the vintage green beautifully.

Another Rug…

I'll need a second one 😉. Post-wall removal, a matching round wooden table joins. Concrete floor here too, so another rug is essential. Vintage style or jute?

These options below catch my eye under a round table. Wood table raises color questions: black with the green rug, or gray?

Your thoughts? I'd love opinions or fresh ideas!

When Is a Workplace Inspiring?

Inspiration varies, but for me, it's cozy, not sterile. My prior office had white furniture—we're reusing cabinets but swapping the table for warmth. Aiming for a living-room feel, with an open plant-filled shelf to combat stress.

The orange barrel in the corner? A dusty attic find from Frank's aunt—adds instant vibrancy!
