Marco Zagaria, a design student battling cold rooms on a tight budget, grew frustrated with expensive electric heaters. Drawing from real-world challenges, he invented Egloo – a simple, affordable heating solution anyone can use.
Egloo features four key parts: a base for four tea lights, a protective grid, a primary terracotta dome that reaches 150°C, and a secondary dome maintaining 50°C. Terracotta's heat retention and large air-contact surface ensure steady, long-lasting room warming from just candles.
It's not for massive spaces, but the creator confirms it reliably raises room temperature by 2-3°C for 4-5 hours – proven through testing and backed by strong crowdfunding success.
The campaign is live on Indiegogo. With a $30,000 goal surpassed by nearly $100,000, backers can still secure an Egloo for about $80 or €67.
