Tips to optimally protect your home

Your home is the only place that really belongs to you, and it is important that you feel safe.
Unfortunately, it is statistically not that safe in the Netherlands, because according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, a burglary takes place in the Netherlands every 10 minutes. And that can happen to anyone, no matter where you live. It is therefore important to protect your home as optimally as possible.

The purpose of home security is to make it so that a potential burglar is deterred. It is impossible to perfectly secure your home, but there are several measures you can take to improve the security of your home. You can read here how to do that.

Provide outdoor lighting
Light is not only a deterrent, but also ensures that you can see a possible burglar well. So if you don't already have outdoor lighting, buy and install it near each point of entry.

Install timers
When you leave the house at night or go on vacation, make it look like someone is home. You do this by using timers on lights and TVs.

Make sure you have good locks
The burglars are becoming more and more innovative, and many locks are due for renewal. Make sure you have a cylinder lock on your front door and possibly back door if you have a garden. A cylinder lock ensures that the cylinder cannot be pulled out of the fitting. This is one of the new ways that burglars use. You will find an extensive range of cylinder locks at Deur-cylinderlocks.nl. Also think of a doorkeeper to talk to visitors without opening the door all the way. With this you can avoid the "chat trick" and a home everywhere.

Install an alarm security system
Camera surveillance for your home is perfect because it deters burglars first and helps keep an eye on unwanted visitors. In addition, it collects evidence. There are different types of cameras with various options on the market, so look carefully at what is best for your situation.

Close all
The last obvious form of security that costs nothing:close your doors and windows! (And possibly the garage.) This also applies when you are at home, but you are not in the room.
