Stainless Steel Stairs:Advantages and Disadvantages

The monopoly is no longer on wooden stairs and so much the better, even if no one can question the beauty of some. However, when you only consider a metal staircase for your home; because more contemporary or even less difficult to maintain; knowing that it is possible is a great victory. It remains to be seen which metal will be chosen. What about stainless steel?

Strengths and weaknesses of stainless steel stairs

One of its main characteristics lies in its name. Even if it is common now to designate this staircase under the name of stainless steel staircase, it should rather be said stainless steel staircase. It is therefore totally insensitive to corrosion; which allows it to appear not only in interiors, but also outdoors.

Resistant, shiny, light, it has many qualities that appeal to lovers of modern and refined interiors. If the room in which it is to be installed is already bright, it will help to bring even more clarity, which increases living comfort.

Another advantage of this material, the fact that it can be married with others, when you do not necessarily want a total look that would be too industrial in an already very modern universe. The stainless steel staircase can therefore include glass or wooden steps, why not, but it is usually necessary, in this case, to request a tailor-made staircase. Many people consider their future staircase as an investment that will last over time and no longer hesitate to indulge themselves.

Why take a custom-made stainless steel staircase?

If we know it most often straight, it is in fact possible to make all requests concerning stainless steel stairs. They can take the helical form (spiral) with a central stringer also in stainless steel, as well as rotating, whatever the type chosen.

Tailor-made can meet all desires; whether you are renovating an old property or at the stage of making plans for your future home. However, it is necessary to ask for an estimate and the expertise of an escalier because a staircase, to be safe, must meet many standards. The stainless steel staircase can be screwed or even welded, depending on the way the craftsman works.

Renewable and recyclable, the stainless steel staircase seems to have no defects. What is it in reality? If it does not require substantial maintenance as would be the case for wood, it scores quickly. Fingerprints are easy to see.

Nothing very complicated, however, for the stainless steel staircase to regain all its shine:a little water with the addition of Marseille soap and a wipe with a lint-free cloth and it will be like new. It does not retain much dust which is another of its assets.

On the other hand, over time, it risks losing its legendary shine. Can we fight? Yes, by rubbing it, every six months or so with rubbing alcohol. Some being flavored, it will smell good in the house.
