Expert Guide to Easy Floor Cleaning: Carpets, Parquet, and Natural Fibers

Choosing flooring often prioritizes looks over upkeep, but with the right approach, maintenance becomes effortless. As someone who's tackled these surfaces in my own home, I'll share proven strategies to keep your floors spotless.

Carpets

Carpets add warmth and comfort, especially long-pile ones in bedrooms. But dust is their worst enemy. Vacuum 1-2 times weekly to prevent dust mites and allergies. For deep cleans, I rent a carpet shampooer annually—it's the most effective method.

Parquet Floors

Parquet is common in living areas. Vitrified finishes are simple: mop with warm soapy water using a specialized parquet mop. Avoid water on oiled parquet—use a soft dry cloth or vacuum 2-3 times weekly. For waxed floors, a slightly damp microfiber mop handles tough spots.

Plant Fiber Floors

Trendy plant fibers like seagrass thrive in humid areas like bathrooms. Moisten seagrass regularly and mop like tile. For coir's rustic appeal, vacuum with a soft brush.
