Why I Prefer to Use Energy-saving Light Bulbs.

Why I Prefer to Use Energy-saving Light Bulbs.

To save energy, you might as well start at the beginning. Our appliances and our light bulbs.

In our supermarkets, the light bulb departments are rather well stocked, even a little too much. By choosing energy-saving light bulbs our electricity consumption is greatly reduced.

Certainly, more expensive to buy, they last 8 times longer than our old incandescent bulbs. In comparison, a conventional bulb lasts 1,000 hours, a low consumption bulb 8,000 hours.

How to Find It? Which Power to choose?

It is true that there is a multitude of information on the packaging of these new generation bulbs. It is sometimes difficult to understand exactly what all this information means.

To Remember

• Power in Watts it is the consumption of the bulb for 1 hour. Example:8W

• Consumption equivalence for an incandescent bulb in Watt . Example:8W =33W for a classic bulb.

• Light intensity in Lumen . This unit of measurement is used to define the power of the lighting. Example:345lm

• The energy class de A to G . A being the best rating and G the worst.

Other indications are to be taken into account, the ignition speed, the shape of the base, the color (white, yellow) but these really depend on the use for which our bulb is intended.

With all these details, there are no more excuses for not switching to low-consumption light bulbs and, above all, on our electricity bill, there are several tens of euros saved.

Last tip:Cleaning our lights saves us lighting. At equal power, it's 40% more luminosity!
