1. Bicarbonate + White vinegar

7 Simple And Effective Tricks Against Tartar In Toilets.

Baking soda and white vinegar are two of the household products I use for a whole host of things.

Besides being totally natural, they are really cheap. And in the toilets they work a miracle!

How to:

- Pour about 500 ml of vinegar into the toilet bowl. With a clean toilet broom, be sure to go all over the bowl and in the nooks and crannies. Leave it on for about 1 minute.

- Then, put about 150 g of baking soda in the toilet bowl. Add another 500 ml to 1 liter of vinegar. This will cause a very useful foamy reaction to loosen the impurities. Leave on for about 10 minutes.

- Then use the toilet brush to evenly distribute the solution around the bowl, emphasizing the encrusted limestone that is above the water line. Don't flush the toilet.

- Let the vinegar and baking soda solution work for another 30 minutes maximum, brushing once or twice more, until the tartar is gone. If there is any left, scrub with the brush.

- Rinse by flushing. Check out the trick here.

2. White vinegar

With regular maintenance, white vinegar alone can be enough to prevent scaling of the toilet bowl.

Indeed, thanks to its acidic pH, white vinegar has the ability to dissolve limestone in the bowl or tank.

For this, use this trick about once a week to be quiet.

How to:

- Pour the white vinegar directly all around the bowl.

- Leave it on overnight.

- To find clean toilets without scale, all you have to do is scrub the toilet bowl with your toilet brush.

- And for rinsing, simply flush the toilet the next time you pee to save water.

For an even more practical side, you can even make this anti-limescale spray based on white vinegar.

3. Soda crystals

Soda crystals are also particularly effective in fighting limescale in the toilet and descale the bottom of the heavily scaled bowl. Check out the trick here.

How to:

- Boil 1 liter of water.

- Put on gloves before handling the soda crystals.

- In a basin, put 3 tablespoons of soda crystals and pour boiling water into the basin.

- Mix well with the spoon.

- Pour the mixture directly into the toilet.

- Leave on for at least 15 min.

- Then brush the bottom of the bowl to remove the limestone.

- Flush the toilet.

4. Oyster shells

Are you wondering how to prevent limescale from landing in the toilet?

When you eat oysters, don't throw away the shells!

In addition to being useful for your chickens and your plants, they could well become the best anti-limestone in the toilet tank.

To do this, simply put 1 or 2 shells in the toilet tank, and use them normally.

As it attracts limestone, it will come to rest on it rather than on the enamel of your toilet. Check out the trick here.

5. Lemon

Lemon is a powerful natural product against limescale.

So, after squeezing a lemon, I collect the lemon halves and pass them, pulp side, inside the toilet bowl.

And mainly to descale the edges.

You can leave it on for an hour before rinsing. At the same time, the lemon disinfects your toilet.

It also works to remove limescale from bathroom tiles. Find out how here.

6. Coca-Cola

If we know the corrosive aspect of coca-cola, especially for the stomach, we know less about its usefulness for stripping certain surfaces.

This is the case of limestone in the toilet. Just pour a can of coke into the bowl and leave for 1 hour to remove limescale.

The phosphoric acid contained in coke acts on encrusted dirt and breaks down scale in the toilet. Check out the trick here.

7. Regular maintenance is sufficient

No need to buy expensive chemicals to prevent scale formation in toilets.

Simple regular toilet maintenance can save you from having to checkout for nothing!

Just regularly put 250 ml of white vinegar in the bowl and let it act all night to prevent the limestone from settling and remove it quickly if necessary.

By doing this, I never have to scrub for hours to maintain my toilet again.
