Today I'm showing you how to clean your water cooler cat easily.
Because if you want it to work for a long time, you have to maintain it well. Especially the pump!
Otherwise the limestone becomes encrusted and clogs the system which ends up no longer working at all...
But rest assured, it's very simple to clean your cat's water fountain.
Luckily, for over 3 years now, I've been using a simple easy grandma's trick to descale the cat fountain.
And since then, I have no more worries!
The effective trick to remove limescale is to soak it in white vinegar . Watch:
1. Completely disassemble the water cooler and the pump, following the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Put the pump and all the elements of the fountain (except the filter) in a bowl or basin.
3. Pour the white vinegar and water (half/half) into the basin so as to cover the fountain.
4. Let it soak for 20 min.
5. With a brush or a brush, brush all the elements of the fountain.
6. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, rubbing with a sponge.
7. Do a second rinse with cold water.
8. Reassemble the parts of the fountain.
There you go, your cat's water fountain is now perfectly clean :-)
Easy, fast and efficient, right?
Plus a trace of limestone in the circuit of the fountain!
White vinegar does all the work for you.
But above all, it is the assurance of not having to buy a fountain every four mornings!
Because a cat water fountain is not cheap!
Sometimes it seems that the water fountain has stopped working. But that's just because it's scaled.
A good cleaning and it starts again!
Depending on the hardness of the water in your home, you can do this cleaning once a month.
It works for all fountain brands:Drinkwell, Catit, like those bought on Amazon, Maxizoo or Zolux, at Leclerc or Gifi.
So that the cat's water fountain is not a breeding ground for bacteria, it must be cleaned once a week with soap and water.
To do this, dismantle the main parts of the fountain. No need to disassemble the pump!
Take a sponge with soap, and rub the parts.
Again, rinse the fountain very thoroughly once with hot water and once with cold water.
This way, the water in the cat fountain stays clean and bacteria-free. And your cat stays healthy.
Vinegar is a natural product with a very acidic pH.
This acidity is a very effective weapon against limestone.
Moreover, it is for this reason that white vinegar is a recognized anti-limestone.
It is the sworn enemy of limestone which cannot resist it.
It is therefore perfect for cleaning your fountain.
But there is another good news.
White vinegar is a natural product and non-toxic for animals.
It allows biological and safe cleaning.
It is therefore ideal for descaling the pump of a pet's water fountain, because there is no danger for him.
Just remember to rinse it well so that it does not retain the taste of vinegar. Otherwise your cat may refuse its water.
You can also use white vinegar to clean and descale decorative fountains. Here's how:
1. Completely disassemble the water cooler and the pump, following the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Put the pump in a large container (a salad bowl for example).
3. Pour enough white vinegar over the pump to cover it.
4. Let the pump soak overnight.
5. In the morning, rinse it with clear water.
There you go, the water fountain is clean!
You see, it's not worth buying a cleaning product for the water fountain.
This trick works for all decorative indoor fountains, but also for small outdoor garden fountains, made of stone or cast iron.
You can also use it for the maintenance of certain parts of an Eva type water fountain.
