You've probably spotted mimosa lighting up social media and florist displays. This versatile decor staple offers a sweet, powdery fragrance with honey and vanilla notes, while its sunny yellow blooms deliver a cool, radiant glow indoors. As an ideal winter plant, mimosa thrives in entryways, living rooms, or bedrooms. Arrange it in bouquets inside demijohns, or add subtle accents like branches formed into a wall-hung plant wreath or displayed under a glass cloche.
Like other cut flowers from the Mimosaceae family, yellow mimosa needs proper care to stay fresh. Cut the stems, then crush the ends with a hammer before placing in a vase. For freshly picked branches, use lukewarm water mixed with sugar or diluted flower preservatives. Mimosa is thirsty, so refresh water frequently. Keep it in a cool room below 20°C for best results.
