Refurbishing your house:5 ideas

Is your home clearly in need of a makeover? There are several ways to make your home look more modern and new with some relatively simple adjustments. We are happy to give you some ideas below.

Stair renovation
A worn staircase can be an eyesore. It quickly gives the impression that the rest of the house will also be outdated. Replacing your entire staircase is really not necessary. You can also redecorate your stairs in many other ways. For example, choose to re-cover your entire staircase with carpet or only tackle the steps with, for example, PVC or crescent moons made of carpet or aluminum.

Painting
Do the curls hang from the paintwork? That is of course not very nice. A good paint job does a lot for the eye! Paint your windows to make them look like new again or give your living room a new, fresh color. You can even paint over tiles! Are you really tired of having to paint those window frames again and again? Then think about plastic frames. A new plastic front door, for example, how you can never paint again and always ensures that the first impression of visitors is top notch.

Renovate the floor
Your floor takes up about the largest surface in the house. A wooden floor often shows signs of use over time. Does your floor look worn or do you see bald spots exactly where you walk the most? Then have your floor taken care of by sanding it again and painting or oiling it.

A modern look
Sometimes it is the case that something is not so much worn out, but that it seems outdated because of the colors or materials used. An old-fashioned tile, for example, is still in fine condition, but does look old-fashioned. It is very easy to stick a modern tile over old tiles, to replace an outdated radiator with a design variant, to replace a plastic shower wall with a sleek, modern glass wall or to have the cabinet doors of your kitchen sprayed over.

Construction
But maybe you want to take a more rigorous approach? Are you simply short of space in your home, which makes it always look full and cluttered? And have those French doors and the adjacent floor actually seen better days? Then it is also an option to have an extension fitted with sliding doors. Completely new, fresh and modern, it is a real added value for your home!

And then you can start with the garden in the spring!
