Ford's Lane-Keeping Bed: Automotive Tech Keeps Partners in Their Own Lane

After a long day, cuddling up with your partner should be pure bliss. But if you share your bed with a notorious space-hogger, precious sleep can be lost wrestling back your side of the mattress. Separate beds aren't for everyone—so Ford has innovated the Lane-Keeping Bed.

Lane-Keeping Aid, featured in many new Ford vehicles, uses advanced camera systems to monitor road markings. If the driver drifts, it applies subtle steering corrections to keep the car safely between the lines, preventing unintentional lane departures.

Drawing directly from this proven technology, the Lane-Keeping Bed employs pressure sensors to detect when a sleeper crosses into the other half. An integrated conveyor belt then gently rolls them back to their designated side.
