Well yes! mulching does not only have the function of slowing down evaporation and therefore limiting watering. Organic mulching prevents erosion by wind and water, prevents compaction of the ground caused by the sometimes violent rains, gives a cover soil populations:soil-dwelling insects that are great cleaners because they eat larvae, slugs, snails and other eggs of phytophagous insects.
