Few things refresh a neighborhood like a lush green space. In Montrouge, a 3,700 m2 plot has been transformed into a stunning Tuscan garden, reflecting Mayor Jean-Loup Metton's commitment to unique district identities and dynamic greening policies. Today, the city boasts 8 hectares of green space—a remarkable leap from the 1990s.

This new Tuscan garden brings the total to 23 public gardens. Mayor Metton, grinning proudly, shared, "The idea struck me in 2004—perhaps thanks to my Italian grandfather." Landscape architect Laurence Jouhaud brought it to life, explaining, "From the mayor's vision and my Tuscan wanderings, the garden's neighborhood identity felt perfectly clear."

Infused with Italian flair, the garden features terracotta-roofed attic terraces and facades evoking Tuscany's iconic red earth. Final enhancements include expanding the adjacent schoolyard with a playground and adding a residential building. This gem could propel Montrouge to fourth place among France's flowered cities and villages.
Why not infuse your own garden with Tuscan charm? Alongside English, French, and Japanese styles, Tuscan gardens offer timeless artistry year-round.
