A few keys to optimize your lighting

Making the right choices for your interior lighting is essential:well placed, it can make you escape from everyday life by taking full advantage of a cocoon atmosphere. just as it can ruin our life... and our sight!

Welcoming friends, providing good lighting in functional rooms such as the kitchen and bathroom, creating an intimate atmosphere in the bedroom – there are tips and tricks for this.

The different types of lighting

First of all, did you know that there are several types of lighting? It is not a question of different kinds of lamps and lighting devices, that is to be determined later, but of choosing the way in which we are going to light up each room or each sector of the same room according to the space and needs.

For example, you can create direct or indirect lighting:the first produces a light directed specifically towards an area or an object to highlight (furniture, desk, table, etc.) while the second projects light onto a wall or ceiling. :Softer intensity lighting intended to illuminate the room as a whole. There is also diffused lighting for a more nuanced light.

Bathroom, the possibilities

A well dosed light in the bathroom is still more appreciable than a simple light bulb hanging from the ceiling. The use of sconces will make it possible to qualify this luminosity (diffused lighting) as well as that of auxiliary LEDs which will be useful to dose it in strategic places:mirrors, washbasin, shower cubicle...

The choice of the right ceiling light is crucial to obtain overall lighting that is neither too bright nor too dim:opt for a frosted glass shade or an opaline lamp, which will make the light less aggressive while illuminating the room in its entirety. For accent lights (spotlights, wall lights) use low voltage bulbs, which are softer and more economical.

How to light up your kitchen?

In the kitchen, having adequate and quality lighting is essential:it must be equipped with various light points. Indeed, central lighting will not be sufficient and it is preferable to supplement it with light sources placed at each work point (stove, dining area, worktop, etc.); for this you can use spotlights, suspended lights or fluorescent tubes that will provide very intense lighting (white light) and more localized.

Small LEDs can be placed along furniture or halogen lights to create "window lighting". Take the time to think about the ideal combination to make your kitchen as functional as possible.

Lighting mistakes to avoid

Poorly thought out artificial lighting can have a catastrophic effect:blinding, pale or unsuited to the colors of the room, it will quickly make the latter sometimes cold, sometimes stuffy...

To remedy dim light, you should choose full-spectrum bulbs to equip your lights:they provide a brightness close to natural light. It is of course necessary to avoid lighting a room without taking into account its surface; be careful, lights that are too yellow visually narrow the space.
