1. Begin with a mirror-image (reversed) printout of your monogram. Place self-adhesive contact paper over the print and trace the letter using a thin permanent marker. Cut out the letter with scissors; for intricate loops or details, use a craft knife.
2. Disassemble the frame and clean the glass thoroughly. Position the glass over the printed monogram as a guide. Peel off the paper backing from your traced monogram stencil and adhere it to the top center of the glass, accounting for frame margins. Smooth the edges firmly with a paper towel-wrapped finger to ensure a tight seal.
3. Work in a well-ventilated area over a drop cloth. Shake the Krylon Looking Glass Spray Paint vigorously for 2 minutes (reshake for 10 seconds after each minute of use). From the stenciled side of the glass, hold the can 8-10 inches away and apply 7-10 very thin coats in sweeping motions, waiting 1 minute between coats. The paint dries in 5-10 minutes and is handleable after 1 hour.
4. After 1 hour, gently peel off the monogram stencil using a sewing pin to lift the edges.
5. Reassemble the mirror: Place pastel paper behind the glass first, add a black backing to the painted side for a polished finish, then secure in the frame.
