Materials and Tools
- Mirrored door
- Glass mirror
- Circular saw
- 2" x 4" lumber
- Sandpaper

Cutting and Preparing the Door
- Cut the door to your desired size with a circular saw. Aim for a mirrored section of 5' x 8", plus 5 inches on one side and 11 inches on the other.
- Ensure the door extends 2 inches past the mirror on each side.
- Tip: To avoid cutting into the mirror, drill pilot holes starting 1 inch from the edge, then 2 inches apart.
- Clean the door thoroughly and sand away scratches or rough edges for a smooth finish.
Building the Shelf Base
- Cut one 2x4 to 54 inches, then rip it to the door width minus 1 3/4 inches.
- Cut two 2x4s to 25 inches each.
- Assemble the shelf base by attaching the 25-inch pieces to the 54-inch piece on each side and center.
- Apply stain to all wood pieces and let dry.
- Secure the shelf base to the door with screws.
Installation
- Locate and mark wall studs using a stud finder.
- Position according to your bed placement.
- Mount the headboard securely to the studs.
- Touch up stain or edges as needed for a professional look.
