As experienced conservators recommend, string a rope or clothesline inside your home, ideally in the kitchen near your freezer. Avoid hanging outdoors, where wind and weather could cause further damage.
Quickly place wet papers and photos into freezer bags. If pages are stuck together, do not separate them—keep stacks intact. Seal and freeze for about an hour to prevent ink bleeding and mold growth.

Let the frozen bags thaw on the counter. Gently separate stuck pages with tweezers, then air-dry each photo or document individually on the clothesline for best results.
