How to

1. Take your talc and apply it, either in a localized place where you have spotted a squeak, or on the entire surface of the furniture (for a staircase for example). Be generous in application.

2. With a broom, gently dust the talc surface of your object, trying to collect the excess talc , in order to avoid wasting it (because for a staircase, that's a lot of talc).

3. Repeat the operation as many times as necessary until the squeaking stops and the talc has completely filled the cracks.

There you go, your wooden furniture no longer squeaks :-)

What silence!

Indeed, all you have to do is buy talc, or use the one you have at home!

But to do this trick, you need a fairly large amount of talc (it all depends on the surface to be treated).

So maybe you will need to invest in a few cans of talcum powder.

Why does it work?

The talc not only absorbs the humidity which twists the wood of your furniture causing the squeaking, but also helps, being a soft and slippery product, to reduce the friction of the joints.

And if your wood doesn't completely stop squeaking with this trick, the squeaking is probably due to something more important than a little moisture.
