Think your Thermomix is just for cooking? Think again! This versatile kitchen appliance can also whip up homemade laundry detergent that's effective, eco-friendly, and budget-friendly.
As a Thermomix user with years of experience creating custom recipes, I've tested this method extensively—it works flawlessly on whites, colors, and delicates without harsh chemicals.
Perfect for Thermomix owners looking to save money and reduce waste. Here's my proven recipe to make ecological detergent in just minutes.
Contents - 60 g of pure Marseille soap
- 6 tablespoons baking soda
- 2 tablespoons of soda crystals
- 20 drops of lavender essential oil (or your choice)

- 3 liters of water
1. Cut the Marseille soap with a knife to get 60 g.
2. Put the Marseille soap in the bowl of your Thermomix.
3. Blend it for 10 seconds at speed 8 to reduce it to a fine powder.
4. Add a liter of water.
5. Heat everything at 90°C for 10 min at speed 2.
6. Once the soap is well melted in the water, let cool for 5 min.
7. Slowly add the soda crystals.
8. Slowly add the baking soda.
9. Mix 10 min at speed 4 without heating and watch.
10. Add 1 liter of water and the essential oil.
11. Mix the product for 2 minutes at speed 4.
12. Pour the preparation into the 3-liter container.
13. Add a liter of water to the container.

You've just made your homemade laundry detergent with the Thermomix! It's simple, quick, and incredibly cost-effective.
This recipe yields 3 liters for under €1—about €0.025 per wash (excluding water costs), enough for 20 loads.
Your clothes come out impeccably clean, fresh-smelling, and chemical-free. From my testing, it handles whites and colors perfectly every time.
Use it just like your regular detergent: Shake well before each load, then add 100ml to the dispenser (a full measuring cap from an old bottle works great).
Add white vinegar to the fabric softener compartment for extra softness and rinse power.
- Adding baking soda and soda crystals will cause foaming—add slowly to prevent overflow.
- This recipe is safe for you and your Thermomix: Marseille soap is gentler than commercial detergents, and baking soda is naturally sourced.
- Clean your Thermomix afterward: Add 1.5 liters of water, heat at 100°C for 5 min at speed 3. Empty, sponge the walls, rinse, and repeat until water runs clear.
- Marseille soap flakes work too but cost more. Ensure no glycerin (check packaging)—it can clog pipes.
- If too thick or solid, remix with hot water in the Thermomix for a smooth texture.
- This works with Monsieur Cuisine Connect or Companion too.
