7 Grandma s Tricks for Recovering a Burnt Saucepan.

1. With white vinegar

White vinegar is a real miracle product; in addition to being totally natural, it knows how to do everything on the cheap.

It disinfects, deodorizes, descales and... effectively cleans the bottoms of burnt pans!

In addition, it does not matter the material. White vinegar treats everything:stainless steel, cast iron, non-stick or even enamel.

To recover your pan bottom burned with white vinegar, nothing could be simpler.

- Fill your pan with a little vinegar in the bottom.

- Heat the pan for 2 minutes over low heat.

- When the vinegar begins to boil, turn off the heat and let cool.

- All you have to do is wipe the bottom of the pan with a sponge.

All encrusted deposits then come off effortlessly. Your pan is like new again and ready to use again.

Tip:if the bottom of the pan is really charred, add a few drops of washing-up liquid in addition to the white vinegar.

2. With baking soda

An equally effective, natural and ecological alternative exists to overcome burn marks on a pan.

And this alternative is called:baking soda.

Equally at home when it comes to scouring, descaling or making everything sparkle in the house, baking soda also has another major advantage.

It is super cheap! In any case, much cheaper than any other cleaning product.

So to do a cleaning in economy mode, remember to always have baking soda in stock at home.

But back to our subject.

How to salvage a burnt pan with baking soda?

- Sprinkle baking soda in the bottom of the pan.

- Pour water over 2 or 3 cm and bring to a boil.

- Remove the pan and leave to cool for 20 to 30 minutes.

- Wipe the bottom of the pan with a sponge.

Burned deposits come off on their own and your pan is rid of all residue.

3. With citric acid

Have you ever heard of citric acid? ? It is a natural active present in lemons.

It is mainly used to descale or remove rust from metal materials.

Citric acid is even used to remove the moss present on the terrace slabs.

Plus, it's easy to get them. It can be bought in powder or can be extracted from a lemon if you have some in the kitchen.

This ecological and 100% biodegradable product is therefore used for many things.

And even to recover traces of burns encrusted in the bottom of the pan, whether cast iron or stainless steel.

Take your burnt pot and put 2 tablespoons of citric acid in it and fill it with boiling water on top.

Wait a few minutes for the mixture to take effect, then wipe the bottom with a sponge (or scrape with a wooden spoon).

All the residues then come off; you just have to wash (several times if necessary) your pan with clear water and you're done.

Be careful however, be aware that citric acid is not suitable for enamel materials and aluminum.

4. With soda crystals

As you are a pro at easy, natural and inexpensive cleaning, I'm sure you know about soda crystals.

This product is used to scrub everything in the house:hobs, kitchen floors, stains on clothes and even pipes.

Soda crystals are notably THE SOLUTION if you need to recover the burnt bottom of a frying pan, casserole dish or pot in cast iron .

Put soda crystals and boiling water in the burnt pan and leave to act overnight.

Soda crystals have the advantage of being able to hydrate dry materials, which makes it easier to remove stuck-on residue.

You just have to pass a cloth soaked in water to wipe your pan bottom and everything becomes nickel again.

Add to this (if you wish) a few drops of lemon for an even more pleasant scent.

Although soda crystals are 100% ecological, some precautions should be taken.

Do not use this product on aluminum materials.

Soda crystals can also irritate the skin; they should therefore be handled with care using gloves.

More generally, follow the precautions for use before using and/or creating your homemade household products.

5. With wood ash

Happy owner of a fireplace, you will be delighted with this grandmother's trick.

Stop throwing your wood ashes away, because you can use them to recover a burnt pan!

You just have to pour the ashes with a little water into the pan and boil everything.

Once done, rinse with plenty of water and get your pan clean and like new.

6. With the white vinegar + bicarbonate combo

Used separately, white vinegar and baking soda are already terribly effective.

But when combined, it becomes an explosive cocktail of efficiency.

So if you have a really charred pan that is very difficult to pick up, don't hesitate to use these 2 products at the same time.

- In the bottom of the pan, pour 2 cm of water and a cup of white vinegar.

- Bring your mixture to a boil to already eliminate some deposits.

- Remove the pan from the heat and pour 2 tablespoons of baking soda.

A chemical reaction will occur, but don't panic, it's part of the plan.

- Let the solution do its little job for about fifteen minutes then wipe the bottom with a sponge or cloth

7. With fine salt

If you really don't have any natural product seen in this article to help you recover your burnt pan, use fine salt.

At least you're pretty sure you have some in your kitchen!

In addition, the method is super easy and effective.

Sprinkle the bottom of the pan with fine salt and let it operate minimum 1 hour.

And that's all ! All you have to do is wash your pan as usual and the burn marks will be gone.

Additional advice

There are loads of industrial products that can help you salvage a burnt pan.
