Inside Hasna's Renovated Home: Serene Oriental Style on a Budget

Hasna and her husband transformed an old house into a tranquil oriental-inspired retreat, all on a limited budget. The results are stunning, as these photos reveal. As an interior enthusiast with years of following real-home makeovers, I love sharing inspiring stories like this—thank you, Hasna, for the tour!

Oriental Living Style in a Serene Atmosphere

Oriental design can take many forms, but for Hasna, it meant blending subtle Eastern influences with a peaceful vibe. She's masterfully woven this calm oriental aesthetic throughout her home. Dive into these photos of her interior—I'm eager to hear your thoughts.

TV Corner in Oriental Style

The wall-mounted TV sits above a decorative fireplace, with custom coves flanking both sides—crafted by their contractor. Elegant wall lights inside the coves create a luxurious, soothing glow. A wooden ladder, aluminum bowls, and a vase tie it all together perfectly.

The ladder is available at Kwantum, while the bowls and candle holders can be found at Xenos.

Dining Area at Hasna's House

A space-saving round table keeps things light and inviting, highlighted by an aluminum vase. Her husband handmade the wall ornaments, and lush plants add instant warmth and style.

Hasna's dining chairs are similar to those at Kwantum or V&D.

A Cozy Sitting Area in Oriental Style: Accessories Make It Easy

Modern, streamlined seating gets an oriental upgrade through smart accessories like the low table, wicker baskets, and pendant lamp—while neutral tones maintain serenity.

The lamp hails from Morocco, but similar options are available locally. Rear cushions from Kwantum; the middle one was plain white with DIY diamond patterns drawn in black marker. She sewed the front cushion herself.

Carpet from Jysk, Moroccan table from Maysoonshop, and wicker baskets from Xenos.

Style Your Space with Oriental Carpets

Accessories are key to an oriental look—start with a genuine oriental rug in various colors and sizes. Beyond traditional Persian designs, now trendy again, consider durable silk-look rugs for insulation and strength.

The Bathroom in Oriental Splendor

A full hammam makeover with tadelakt is luxurious but costly. Hasna proves you can achieve spa-like oriental charm affordably. That shower niche is irresistible!

Standard wall and floor tiles let the mosaic-patterned shower steal the show—mosaic is hugely popular now, as featured in my recent hall flooring blog. These come from Impermo, with tons of pattern tile options.

Light wood bathroom cabinetry contrasts the gray tiles beautifully, echoed in the top section. Rounded sink edges soften the design.

Cabinetry from Badplaats (also in a two-basin version), bath mat from Jysk (they have a round mandala style too).

DIY Window Decoration in Oriental Style

Hasna's husband crafted this showstopper from an old window frame: an MDF panel with intricate cutouts, painted and attached. A true oriental statement—what a creative triumph!
