What lighting for the garden?

When you are lucky enough to own a garden, it becomes a real pleasure to spend hours tending to it. This allows you to relax and forget the little hassles of life.

Using objects for garden decoration

But the garden is not only about planting flowers or sowing vegetables in the vegetable patch. With a little imagination, it is possible to make it a fantastic place to live thanks to the decoration. I'm going to give you some little ideas to make your garden pleasant to live in.

When I think about decorating my garden, I usually find objects in flea markets. I really like wooden objects. After a long search, I was finally able to get my hands on an old wooden barrel.

Once filled with natural soil, I was able to plant a rosebush in it which is well suited to this environment. I just have to prune it regularly so that it doesn't get too big. But the result is quite nice. This decorative element is enhanced by an exterior wall lamp with a blue led bulb, which gives a superb contrast.

Lighting up garden paths

What I also like is to give a little life to my garden at night. After taking the necessary information, I decided to buy solar lamps that I placed all over the garden.

Placed mainly in the aisles, they allow me to move around even when the night is very dark. Be aware that there are models where the light is white and others where it is colored. You can choose according to your tastes.

As you can see, the lighting of the garden allows you to highlight it when an idea crosses your mind. The goal is not to light for the sake of lighting but to find harmony between the light and the elements that make up this living space.

If you are a handyman, which is not necessarily my case, there is an idea that I would like to share with you. It is to install lampposts in the garden. This requires burying cables to bring power to each location. I dream of seeing streetlights like there were at the start of the 20th century in wrought iron. Beyond the work involved, the cost should be an end to my desires.

Think about lights with motion detectors

On the front of my house, I had two spotlights with motion detectors installed by a professional. This is more for the safety side than for the aesthetic side. However, I chose wrought iron sconces reminiscent of those that were attached to the walls of inns in the Middle Ages. Like what, it is possible to link the practical to the aesthetic.

If I can afford a little advice, do not let go of the installer after doing many tests. At first the lights went off too quickly and some fine tuning was needed to get it to my liking.

Well, I don't think I forgot anything about my outdoor lighting. If you have a few moments, I would love for you to share your ideas and advice on lighting your garden. I'm sure you have many ideas to share.

For my part, I will continue to browse in flea markets and consignment stores, as well as in my catalog of lamps. Perhaps I will find objects there that will give me new ideas for decorating my garden with light. I promise, if I succeed, I will come and let you know through a new post.
