Moving Allowance for National Education Officials: Eligibility, Benefits, and Tailor-Made Relocation Guide

National Education officials often relocate due to new assignments. To ease the financial burden, the State provides an ICR—Compensation for Change of Residence costs—commonly called a moving allowance. Additional targeted aids may apply, enabling a tailor-made move that fits your needs perfectly.

Available Assistance for Relocating National Education Officials

Officials transferred to a new post qualify for the ICR under these conditions:

  • The administrative residence change requires transferring domicile;
  • The new address must become the principal residence;
  • The move must occur within nine months of the new position's effective date;
  • The prior position must have been held for:
    • At least five years, or
    • At least three years if it was the first posting.

Submit the ICR request within one year of the move to the Academy overseeing the new residence.

The allowance includes a flat-rate compensation based on distance between old and new residences and volume moved (cubage), plus a variable indemnity for personal travel by car or train.

Additional specific assistance may include:

  • Trade entry bonus;
  • CIV Fund for assignments in sensitive areas like ZEP, ZUS, REP;
  • Guarantee assistance;
  • AIP (Assistance for Installation of People), only for first assignments.

Consult your hierarchy for all applicable aids, eligibility, and claim processes.

Leverage Your Allowance for a Premium, Tailor-Made Move

Relocations can be costly, especially with premium services that minimize your out-of-pocket expenses. A tailor-made move offers unmatched convenience—ideal if time is short for packing or disassembly. For National Education officials, the Academy's premium covers a substantial portion, significantly reducing your share.

Professional movers provide customizable options such as:

  • Furniture disassembly;
  • Furniture protection;
  • Packing fragile items like frames, dishware, and decor;
  • Partial or full packing;
  • Plant transport;
  • Piano transport;
  • Loading;
  • Unloading;
  • Furniture reassembly at the new residence.

This isn't exhaustive. À la carte services deliver real comfort. For reference, a 30 m³ all-inclusive move over 500 km costs €2,300–€2,700, varying by provider.

With your allowance, enjoy an all-inclusive service without financial strain. Use an online mover comparator to find top deals, select tailored services, and compare—free and no-obligation.
