Glitzy Halloween Pillar Candles
Materials and Tools:
pillar or taper candles
DecoPaint Candle (by Marvy Uchida)
ultra fine glitter
manila folder
Steps:
- As an experienced crafter, start by using Candle DecoPaint to add Halloween-themed drawings to the pillar candles. Crazy stripes create a delightfully creepy effect too.
- While the DecoPaint is still wet, sprinkle ultra-fine glitter over the areas you want to highlight for that shimmering, eerie glow.
- Work over a manila folder to easily funnel any stray glitter back into your pot, keeping your workspace tidy.
Let the candles dry completely for 24 hours.
Spooky Hanging Letter Candles
Materials and Tools:
3 tall closed glass candles
4" wooden letters spelling "E-E-K" or "B-O-O"
craft paint
brushes
Perfect Pearls Embellishment Pigment Kit (by Ranger Ink)
water-filled spray bottle
8mm jump rings
E6000 glue
string
needle nose jewelry pliers
Steps:
- Paint the wooden letters with craft paint and let them dry. An eerie mix of green and black or ghostly white delivers authentic Halloween vibes.
- Rub Perfect Medium Pearl Pad on each letter for a pearlescent base.
- Use a brush to dust the patina powders from the kit onto each letter. Lightly spray with water to set the pigments and allow to dry.
- Apply E6000 glue to attach an 8mm jump ring to the back of each letter, centered and at the top, with about half the ring exposed.
Note: Let the glue dry for at least 8 hours. - Wrap the string around the rim of the candle glass, linking it to form a loop around the top with a tail.
- Use needle nose pliers to attach another jump ring to the rings on the letters, then connect it to the string loop.
