Designing an outdoor dining room

For two or three years, failing to go on holiday in the mountains or by the sea in the summer season, I decided to make my garden a real living space since I spend most of my rest time there. And recently I installed a dining room there.

Invest in an outdoor dining room

Before investing in a garden set that was primarily intended for outdoor use, I used my indoor dining table and chairs because I couldn't find anything aesthetically pleasing. So, to take advantage of the good weather and the sun around a convivial meal with my loved ones, I had no other choice but to take them out of the house each time, then put them back in their place once the friends gone. But finally, I realized that I received a lot, and that, suddenly, it was very restrictive. It was quite simply a real chore, especially when the rain invited itself into the game, since it was then necessary to bring them in without further delay. Also, as their material was not intended for outdoor use, over time the beautiful upholstery of the chairs faded from too much exposure to the sun. And I'm not talking about the very unsightly damage caused by rain and humidity. As a result, the chairs in my dining room clash with the rest of the furniture in the living room.

So I now have to completely redo their upholstery. As this has a significant cost, there is no longer any question of mistreating my interior furniture. And since there was no question for me, either, of canceling my outdoor lunches and my barbecues, since it has become a real tradition in our circle of friends, I had to comply with the purchase of a complete outdoor dining room.

Choose the right garden set

From the first rays of the sun, even if the weather was not yet really suitable for a meal in the garden, I began to criss-cross the outdoor furniture shops and specialized brands in my city. And to be even more spoiled for choice, I even pushed the investigation into the neighboring departments. All my Saturdays are spent there. It turns out that these many trips taught me a lot about the characteristics of furniture intended for prolonged outdoor use. In addition, I also had a very precise idea of the amount of money I wanted to invest in this purchase. For your information, I have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to favor materials that withstand climatic variations and bad weather conditions, such as PVC, aluminum and wrought iron.

In my case, I hesitated a lot between woven resin and teak. I was seduced, first of all, by the first for its very affordable price, but also for its very modern side. Moreover, furniture made of this material is very light and therefore easily moved from one point to another. And my second option was this exotic wood, because this species is very famous for its great resistance to external aggressions. So in the end I opted for an outdoor teak dining room. I ordered the model with an extension on Emob4garden, because I often have a lot of guests.
