Renowned artist Chantal Perrin masterfully blends origami with literature, transforming book pages into stunning, original lamps that cast a warm, artistic glow. "I wanted to make the book exist as an object of invitation to dream," she shares on her website, home to galleries showcasing her captivating creations. Highlights from her latest collection perfectly balance softness and innovation, as seen in our gallery.
"After years as a film producer, I began folding old scripts experimentally, which inspired me to create these lamps," Perrin explains. Each piece is hand-bound and folded using books of no more than 200 pages, with production taking days or even weeks for intricate folding and assembly. Bases feature premium materials like oak, glass, slate, lacquered wood, and maple, paired with safe, non-heating bulbs. Prices range from €290 to €2,000, with custom designs available at a premium.
