Favorite:Chantal Perrin's Books of Light

The artist Chantal Perrin mixes the art of origami and literature in a very charming way. Indeed, with the pages of books, she creates beautiful, original lamps, ideal for an atmosphere that is both warm and arty. "I wanted to make the book exist as an object of invitation to dream", explains the artist on his website, where you can find all his creations gathered in different galleries. The pieces from her new collection (which you can see in our gallery) are a perfect mix between softness and originality.

Manual and meticulous work

“After years of working as a film producer, I started bending over old scripts, randomly, to try. I then decided to start creating lamps,” the designer told us. All bound and folded by hand, with books no longer than 200 pages, these harmonious lamps can take days (and even weeks) to make, including folding and assembly. The materials used for the bases are varied, ranging from oak to glass, including slate, lacquered wood and maple. The bulbs used are non-heating. The price of these super original lamps? It ranges from 290 to 2000 € (or even more, the most expensive being obviously those made to measure).

All these magnificent creations are on sale in Chantal Perrin's showroom, located at 1 rue des Iris, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. For any order, you can reach her on her email address, [email protected]
