Amazon launched Echo calling in mid-May, enabling seamless calls between Echo owners. While initial features allowed voice calls and messaging after a major update, blocking incoming calls wasn't possible at first. Thankfully, the latest Alexa app update addresses this gap, giving you full control over your communications.
If you've granted Amazon access to your contacts, the app identifies fellow Echo users for easy calling or messaging. For quick silence, activate Do Not Disturb mode by saying, "Alexa, don't bother me"—or turn it off with "Alexa, turn off Do Not Disturb."
To block specific Echo users selectively, open the Alexa app on your phone, navigate to the Conversations tab, tap the contacts icon, scroll to the bottom, and select Block contacts. Choose individuals from the list to prevent their calls and messages.

What are your thoughts on Echo calling? Could it rival traditional phones? Does this update fully resolve the initial blocking oversight? Share in the comments below.
