Classic Lemon Bars Recipe: Easy Buttery Crust and Tangy Filling

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (for crust)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for filling)
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine softened butter, salt, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, and 2 cups flour. Mix until crumbly, then press evenly into a 9x13-inch pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk granulated sugar and 1/4 cup flour. Stir in beaten eggs and lemon juice until smooth.
  3. Pour filling over the warm crust. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, until set.
  4. Cool completely, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
